Parking for Personal Vehicles
Two parking garages for personal vehicles are convenient to the MVP Arena:
MVP Arena Parking Garage
- The closest garage is the MVP Parking Garage located behind and attached to the MVP Arena.
- This garage can be accessed from either its Market Street or Beaver Street entrance.
- Vehicles entering the garage must be no higher than 6’6”.
- The cost is $8.00 per day, payable via credit card only. Please check with the Parking Attendant regarding re-entry privileges if you have to leave the garage throughout the day.
ParkAlbany Green-Hudson Garage
- This lot is 0.2 miles from the arena, located on the corner of Hudson Avenue and Green Street.
- From the front of the MVP Arena, turn onto Hudson Avenue and proceed three blocks to the garage entrance on your right.
- This garage has a limited number of EV charging spaces.
- Vehicles entering the garage must be no higher than 6’6”.
- The weekday cost is $13 per day ($2.00/hour after the first hour at $3). Saturday parking is $5 for entire day.
Motor Coach, Bus and Trailer Parking
- The event has arranged for bus and trailer parking in the Grand Street Parking Lot at 32 Grand Street. This lot is an easy two-block walk from the MVP Arena.
- To reach this lot from the front of the MVP arena, turn Right on to Market Street and then at the stop light turn left onto Grand Street. The lot will be 400 feet ahead on your right.
- Teams attending the NY Tech Valley Regional may park one Motor Coach, bus, or vehicle with attached trailer in the Grand Street Parking lot. The cost for parking these vehicles is significant, therefore the event will cover the parking cost for teams.
- We ask that teams help us contain these costs by using alternative parking options, such as parking trailers or buses in hotel lots, when possible.
Parking During Load-in \ Load-Out
- The Grand Street Lot will be available for bus and trailer parking during Load-in while teams are setting up their pits.
- Following are street view images of the ramp for load-in, as it is not necessarily intuitive to find. You will see that there are signs that say, "Do not enter, authorized vehicles only," but they do not apply to FIRST teams during load-in/out. The ramp for the load-in entrance veers off before both the Empire Plaza and Eagle Street exits. If you drive through the tunnel past "The Egg" you have gone too far.
